Community Update: PPTA Industrial Action, Term 2
Last night the suspension of Industrial Action from the PPTA concluded. This morning, we have received notification that Industrial Action will resume by the PPTA. This will mean that ‘rolling strikes’ will resume with the first starting tomorrow.
At this time, the industrial action is scheduled as follows, and will involve the rostering home of specific year levels as noted:
Term Week Date of Strike Year Level Rostered Home
Week 6 Thursday 1 June 12
Week 7 Tuesday 6 June 10
Week 7 Thursday 8 June 9
School buses will run as usual on all days
Please note:
1. Learners rostered to be at home, are encouraged to use the time for revision and self directed learning.
2. Extracurricular activities will continue wherever possible. This will be confirmed on a case by case basis by the teacher in charge.
3. The Kura Kai (canteen) will remain open throughout the rolling strike action.
We hope that the talks between parties negotiating the Secondary Teachers’ Collective Agreement reach a satisfactory conclusion as soon as possible.
If the strike notice is amended or updated, we will advise you as soon as possible.
Nga mihi
Steve McCracken
