Witches, Kings, Daggers and Murderers, all come together when the Ugly Shakespeare Company visits!

Witches, Kings, Daggers and Murderers, all come together when the Ugly Shakespeare Company visits!

Macbeth doesn’t seem like a comedy... However, these performers present this tragic, sad and violent piece of classic Bard in a highly engaging way and in under an hour! Our learners LOVED IT!

The Ugly Shakespeare Company were at school today performing for all Year 9 learners as part of their English programme, with all Year 9 - 13 Drama learners

Three talented actors performed a version of the Shakespeare classic. Their version was fast-paced, comedic and depicted the entire play in under 50 minutes. The play was designed to take the fear out of Shakespeare. It was a very funny, engaging piece of theatre for our learners and one which everybody enjoyed immensely! It was fantastic to see our learners absolutely lit up and engaged, giving enthusiastic plaudits.

Ugly Shakespeare Company USC says...

The Scottish Play is our 2024 offering with all the original bloodshed of this piece plus the USC’s own interpretation in 50 easy minutes. No trigger warning here, only to warn about the laughs and fun your students (and you) will have in this fast-paced rollick through Birnam Wood.
