Building Leadership in the Community

Building Leadership in the Community

Our school leaders visited Whangaparāoa Primary School to inspire future leaders and the benefits of getting involved in a range of activities. Head Learner Konstantinos Montes writes about the day below.

Over Wednesday the 21st and Thursday the 22nd of February, leaders from Whangaparāoa College, including Sasha Joy, Charlie Teviotdale, and our Head Students, Konstantinos Montes and Emily Stout, visited Whangaparāoa Primary School to talk to the students about leadership. The event consisted of our college students speaking to the year fives and sixes of the primary school, sharing their personal experiences with leadership and encouraging the younger students to pursue leadership opportunities. The younger students got a chance to ask our leaders questions about their experiences and the challenges they faced as leaders. The event concluded with a Waiata and performance from the primary school students to thank our leaders for going to speak to them.
