On Tuesday 7 November Whangaparāoa College hosted a GATE COL Learners Meet. We welcomed 26 learners from Whangaparāoa Primary School who were able to mingle with the very highly able Year 7 learners from our college. Bori Toki, Macy Bennett, Arthur Riley and Liam Parlene from Year 7 shared their experiences of being in the enrichment classes this year. Some of our Year 10 learners being accelerated to Year 12 next year shared their experiences and conducted many of the activities. All the learners enjoyed group activities and individual challenges throughout the day, enhancing skills like problem-solving, deep thinking, creativity etc. We look forward to this being an annual event and hopefully other schools in our community will be able to join us
