At Whangaparāoa College Learners are given the opportunity to work in many areas of technology from years 7-11. The Technology Curriculum is followed at junior levels and a wide range of materials and topics are covered. Technology is offered on one term rotations through the areas.

At year 11 NCEA technology is offered in Multi Materials, Graphics and Clothing. The food component at year 11 follows a Health, Food and Nutrition focus. All courses offer a range of Achievement Standards and in some cases Unit Standards.

It is the intention in technology that all learners develop practical skills, gain knowledge and understanding of the technological process that allows for the development of concepts and ideas and turn them into a reality.
