Library Information

I am your Librarian Ms Martin or Sam, I am available to assist you during the library opening hours 8.15 am - 4pm.

I have created a positive, flexible and welcoming environment offering a wide range of essential resources and services for learners, teachers and staff.
I do have a few simple rules that with encouragement and consistency are followed without hesitation.
A quiet level of noise is maintained in the main library,  I do have a room which is a dedicated restricted noise area perfect for reading, research and study.

Learners have the opportunity to participate in a variety of activities Including Chess club, Board games, Author visits, Lego competitions and reading challenges. I also like to collaborate with teachers to organise events/competitions this year we even took a group of learners to Armageddon.

Technology plays an important role in modern learning, the library embraces this, computers are provided for research and educational games. We also have Wi-Fi throughout for mobile device use.
However you can’t go past a good book for research or enjoyment.
Over the last few years I have been working on building our book collection which incorporates a diverse range of fiction and non-fiction. I like to create unique displays to showcase the wide range of books we have to offer and I pride myself on finding the perfect book for every reader even the most reluctant.

I had the privilege of meeting David Walliams when he visited New Zealand.
He said he may even write a book about me, well about a Librarian. Watch this space.
