Library Information

Whangaparaoa college library is a flexible space offering a wide range of essential resources and services to all our learners, teachers and staff.

Technology plays an important role in modern learning, the library embraces this and we provide computers for browsing the Internet, accessing information online, or for school and home learning. We also provide areas for mobile device use, with Wi-Fi throughout.
However you can’t go past a good book for research or enjoyment;
Our book collections include fiction, non-fiction, sophisticated picture books, graphic novels, audio books, magazines and reference resources.
The Library is a community area where Learners are encouraged to participate in a variety of activities during and after school.

  • Your Librarian is Ms Martin I am available to assist you during the library opening hours which is 8.15 am - 4pm.
  • When you visit, please feel free to keep your bag with you however please make sure that you have eaten and re-hydrated before entering the library as these items must remain in your bag.
  • For your studying requirements, a quiet level of noise is maintained in the main the library areas, and S1 is a dedicated restricted noise room perfect for silent reading, research and study.
  • The Library is a GAME FREE ZONE during morning tea and all day Tuesday , Thursday and Friday.
  • You may issue up to 2 books at any one time. Books are issued for a Two week duration. Should you want to keep your books longer, simply renew them by talking with our friendly Learner Librarians or Staff Librarian. If you need assistance to find the perfect book for you…. We are eager to help.


I had the privilege of meeting David Walliams when he visited New Zealand.
