“Have you ever wondered what fabric will be the most effective as a face mask?” or “How many steps in a run-up will give you the furthest jump distance?”
These were among the many interesting questions our Year 8 learners answered as part of their Term 3 Science Fair investigation. All Year 8 classes participated in investigating a question of their choice, with the top scorers in each class making it to our school finals. These were held on Tuesday 11 August. Our 25 finalists were judged on their final presentation and the top 10 have been selected to attend the NIWA North Harbour Science Fair in November.
Well done to all our Year 8’s for participating in the event and congratulations to the top 25 school finalists. It was very hard to choose 10 regional finalists from this group as there were many interesting projects conducted.
Congratulations to the following Year 8 learners who have been selected to attend the NIWA North Harbour Science Fair in November:
Aimee Beard, Jessica Washer, Noah Collier, Kosta Gladiadis, Aleisha Aalders, Lucy Jackson, Siina Cooke, Savannah Ward, Rose Schultze, Chloe Wu, Charisa Bayes, Zoe Pedersen, Amelie Murray, Samuel Creagh.
