On Thursday 17 June, senior biology learners enjoyed visiting Auckland Zoo as part of their NCEA Level 3 course. Zoo educators guided us in an informative day, that covered topics ranging from the evolutionary history of New Zealand birds; human evolution, and animal behaviour. Luckily we avoided an early morning downpour, which worked in our favour, as we discovered that the animals enjoy getting out and active after a downpour. The zoo educators showed us living examples of concepts that learners will be examined on in their end of year NCEA external exams.
