On Thursday 15 March, 84 learners and 7 staff set off on our annual trip to experience the sights, sounds and tastes of Polyfest, an iconic Auckland festival, filled with colour and culture. This year, Polyfest celebrated its 43rd Anniversary. It is the largest Maori and Pacific Island festival in the world, featuring traditional music and dance by Auckland secondary students on 6 stages: Maori, Samoan, Niue, Cook Islands, Tongan and Diversity Stage (showcasing a mix of Asian, African and other ethnic groups). The variety of delicious ethnic food stalls was one of the highlights of the day.
The winning photos that captured our learners’ different perspectives of Polyfest were chosen from a large number of entries.
The overall winners of each category are:
Vitoria Parenti and Jielyn Lagonde (1st Equal)
