EatMyLunch
At the end of Term 1, our Level 2/3 Health class volunteered at EatMyLunch as a part of their 'NZ Health Issue' Assessment. One in four kiwi kids (approx. 25,000) live in poverty and go to school without lunch every day. EatMyLunch is an agency that provides food/lunches for children who are under-privileged, or go without food in Auckland. Highlighting Child Poverty as an issue of significant societal importance. We made, packed and delivered close to 2000 lunches to school children from dozens of different Primary, Intermediate and Auckland schools.
We also had the pleasure of re-connecting with Mangere Central Primary School, to hand out these lunches during break time, and who also kindly allowed us to stay, assist and interact with their Year 1-8 learners during class time.
A very humbling experience had by all.
