During the three day period of Wednesday 20 to Friday 22 June, Young Enterprise Trust operated the Year 11 BP Business Challenge at our school.
We had 60 learners participate in the challenge. Learners were placed into random groups and were asked to come up with a business product idea that would solve a problem. They were then required to develop a plan for the successful operation of a business that produces, markets, and sells this product including financial forecasts. On the last day, learners presented their ideas to judges from the local community. The judges included Gabrielle Martell-Turner, Craig Caminos and Grant Dabb (from our Board of Trustees), Giancarlo Moretti (current Year 13 Business Studies learner and Chair of Learner Council) and Jason Beech, a representative from BP.
The judges were impressed with the level of idea development in such a short period of time. The product ideas ranged from a robotic dog - to help with pet loneliness, to a wristband - to help monitor a baby’s vital signs.
The overall winning team was Eminent Fashion, an app which helped shoppers find the perfect fit for all their online purchases.
you to everyone that helped make these days a success.
