Zone Days

Year 7 & 8  
The Year 7 & 8’s have a separate program to that of Year 9-13. There are 4 weekly competitions they may enter. These all begin training in Week 5 of Term 1 2020 and teams will established from attendance at training and in some cases trials.

Netball (Winter Terms 2 & 3)
Basketball Leisure Centre (Registered termly, through Sports Office Term 2 & 3, own registration Term 1 and 4)
Hockey (Winter Terms 2 & 3)
Waterpolo (Terms 2, 3.  Please see the Waterpolo information)

Year 7 & 8 also have Zone Days that run throughout the year termly, which correspond with the sports being played at that time of year. Sign ups will take place around 4 weeks before and training's run during lunchtimes at school.

Football
Rugby
Hockey (usually selected from those already in a year 7/8 weekly competition team)
Table Tennis
Waterpolo (usually selected from Year 7/8 Waterpolo weekly competition team)

Term 3
Rugby League
Netball
Cross Country (selected from school cross country results)
Basketball
Volleyball
Gymnastics (must be part of a club and currently training)

Term 4
Touch
Badminton
Top Team (usually selected from classes by teachers)
Athletics (selected from school Athletics qualifying results)
Golf (must be part of a club and be currently playing, have own golf clubs)


•Zone Days are a one day inter-school competition
•‘ZONE’ is North Harbour - this includes all intermediates from the Harbour Bridge to Warkworth.
•Learners can express interest for as many zone days as they wish, participation will be dependant upon trainings attended and  trial.
•Each day entered will cost $15 per learner. We run a scheme of "Pay for 3 get the rest Free". Once your child has paid and played in 3 Zone days, any others they participate in that year will have no cost.
•Several weeks before the competition day learners will be expected to attend regular trainings.
•Parent help is appreciated – either as coach, manager, driver
•Uniform will be either PE gear or provided Multi Purpose Shirts
(These Zone days are subject to change at any time dependent on numbers for teams and volunteer help)

For Summer Sports such as Twilight netball and Cricket you must enquire at the Sports Office
