Waterpolo

Description
Waterpolo at Whangaparaoa College is open to any learners from Year 7 through to Year 13. Teams are mixed with approximately 8 to 10 learners in each squad.

Senior Girls play on a Friday night in a College run weekly competition in Term 1, and the North Island Secondary School champs.

Junior teams (Year 9 and 10 mixed boys and girls) play in a North Harbour weekly competition (with trainings at North Harbour) during terms 1 to 4. There are 3 one day tournaments in term 1 run by the College.  There is a College run league in Term 4. Junior teams are also entered into the North Island Champs that will take place in November.

Year 7 and 8 learners play at the Stanmore Bay Leisure Centre during terms 2 and 3. They are also entered into 3 tournaments during the year - North Island Champs, Winterfest and the Tim Sonderer Memorial Tournament.

Commitment
All teams train one evening a week either at North Harbour or Stanmore Bay Leisure Centre depending on the team. These will be advised after team selection.
Travelling to and from games is the responsibility of the learners and caregivers.

Games
Senior Girls College Sport Term 1 - Friday nights (possibly some Sunday nights) at various Auckland venues.

Junior NH League - Term 1 & 2 are Friday nights at AUT Millenium Pool, Term 3 is Friday nights and Term 4 is Thursday nights at AUT Millenium Pool. College Sport Auckland league is played Friday nights in Term 4.

Year 7 and 8 - Sunday nights at Stanmore Bay Leisure Centre.

Cost
Fees will be confirmed at the time of registration.
Costs do not include school van transport.  If a van is required by a team the coach/manager must contact the Sports office.  Using the school van will incur extra cost.
Fees must be paid before you play "NO PAY NO PLAY"

Uniform
School togs and swimming caps are available at an extra cost.
