INDIVIDUAL MUSIC OPPORTUNITIES
We offer tuition in a large range of instruments here at the College under our itinerant scheme.
We also have a small number of instruments that we are able to hire out at a reduced cost.
Instruments for which we have private tutors attend the school include guitar, bass guitar, violin and drums. Payment and scheduling are organised directly through the tutors, with the convenience of having students take lessons while at school.

MUSIC EXTRA CURRICULAR OPPORTUNITIES
There are a variety of performance prospects at Whangaparaoa College for those learners who play instruments or sing. Our numerous bands and choirs offer students opportunity at every skill level.
All of the bands perform throughout the year to different audiences and both the Concert Band and Jazz Band compete at the KBB Music Festival. Many bands at Whangaparaoa College also work towards entering Rock Quest where students write and rehearse original music. Some bands use the Music department after school etc for rehearsals which needs to be arranged through the Head of Music.
ESSENTIAL ELEMENTS BAND

The band performs a wide variety of easy listening and more complex jazz standards. It’s a great starting place for improvisations and building confidence.
