I have lived on the Whangaparaoa Peninsula for as long as I can remember. I attended Whangaparaoa College a year after it was founded in 2006 and in my final year was Head Boy. Growing up in a place surrounded by a great community and beautiful beaches has made me extremely proud of the area and the college. In light of this, when the opportunity arose in mid-2018 to become a co-opted member of the board, I jumped on it.
Throughout my years attending Whangaparaoa College I gained a good understanding of the school from a learner’s perspective. I intend to ensure that current learners continue to have access to the same, if not more opportunities as I did – academic and otherwise.
I have completed studies in Small Business Management, Economics and Accounting over the course of 5 years at Massey University. Due to my studies, helping to facilitate effective and prudent management of the school’s finances will be a priority.
I am currently contracted by a company assisting international students to study in New Zealand. As well as this, I am employed part time by Whangaparaoa College to provide learning support for international students. Due to my employment, I am at the college on a regular basis.
