Bobbie-Jo (BJ) is of Ngāti Tūwharetoa descent, is an active member of our Hibiscus Coast community, with the eldest of her 4 daughters currently enjoying Year 7 at WGP College and the others at Gulf Harbour School.
She has a background in Physiotherapy, with broad experience in both clinical and teaching areas of the health and tertiary sector and a strong interest in kaupapa Māori. Currently working at Auckland University of Technology (AUT) in the clinical science research area, BJ is passionate about whānau perspecitves of heath to inform and improve health services and practice, to reduce systemic inequities faced in Aotearoa.
BJ has developed skills and knowledge in governance level planning and decision making through holding executive committee/cultural advisory roles (previous and current) for various organisations within the health, education and community sectors and is a strong advocate of te Tiriti based partnerships for meaningful and transformative change. BJ has a vested interest in the direction and develpment of our college, and would welcome the opportunity to contribute her skills and experience to the continued support and success, for all of our community and whānau.
