Graphic Design and Visual Communication

Learners are encouraged to use both 2D and 3D visual communication with focus on freehand sketching and visualisation, instrumental drawings, ICT and modelling.                                   Right: Year 12 Art Deco Exhibition

Graphic design and communication is a part of the Technology department and is introduced at year 9 through the technology curriculum. In year 10 the learners can choose the subject as a half year option. Year 10 learners are given 3 structured creative design tasks to improve their skills and develop understanding of visual communication.

At senior levels 1, 2 and 3 Graphic Design and Communication is an option subject involving  creative, challenging and enjoyable achievement standards. Learners will be encouraged to develop ideas independently using a range of skills and graphic media. Projects will involve areas such as Architecture, media design, interior and Landscape design.
