Graphic Design and Visual Communication

Learners are encouraged to use both 2D and 3D visual communication with focus on freehand sketching and visualisation, instrumental drawings, ICT and modelling.

Graphic design and communication is a part of the Technology department and is introduced at year 9 through the technology curriculum. In year 10 the learners can choose the subject as a half year option. Year 10 learners are given 3 structured creative design tasks to improve their skills and develop understanding of visual communication.

At senior levels 1, 2 and 3 Graphic Design and Communication is an option subject involving  creative, challenging and enjoyable achievement standards. Learners will be encouraged to develop ideas independently using a range of skills and graphic media. Projects will involve areas such as Architecture, media design, interior and Landscape design.
