Description

Swimming Sports runs over two days, one day for Year 9-13 the other for Year 7 & 8.

Year 9-13- Learners sign up for the events they wish to enter. On the day the learners meet at the Sports office at 10am to walk down to the Leisure centre (ONLY those signed up for swimming events will be able to come to the Leisure centre, classes run as normal for all other learners).

Year 7 & 8- This is a compulsory event for all learners in Year 7 & 8. The Year 7’s will all leave with their class teachers at 10.10 am to walk down to the leisure centre and return at 12.30pm. The Year 8’s swim in the afternoon leaving in their classes with their teacher at 12 pm to walk down to the leisure centre, returning at 2.40 pm. Learners must swim in either a non-competitive or competitive event. Sign-ups are sent to classes for those wanting to do competitive events. All non-competitive events are class events therefore all learners in their classes will be taking part.

Whangaparaoa College learners are selected from the Inter-house school swimming competition to enter North Harbour Secondary School Swimming Sports held at the Millennium Institute.
Year 7 & 8`s are selected from the Inter-house school swimming competition. If successful learners are then selected to attend the North Harbour Zone Day swimming competition.
